Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-07. These are the terms you accept when you pick a vendor through Roof-Able. We wrote them to be read.
1. Who we are, and who does the work
Roof-Able is a trade name of Goodman Enterprises, an Oregon business ("Roof-Able", "we", "us"). Roof-Able is a vendor platform. You tell us what you need, and we show you online estimates from independent local companies ("vendors"). Roof-Able does not perform the work. The vendor you pick does, with its own crew, equipment and insurance. Vendors are independent businesses, not employees, agents or subcontractors of Roof-Able.
2. Your agreement is with the vendor
- When you select a vendor, your agreement for the work, including its price, scope, scheduling and quality, is between you and that vendor.
- Roof-Able’s part is to find and check vendors, show you their estimates, keep their compliance documents current, pass your request to the vendor you pick, and help sort it out if something goes wrong.
- Any separate contract, purchase order or vendor agreement you sign with the vendor governs the work alongside these terms.
3. Online estimates
- What you see are online estimates. Each one is worked out by software from that vendor’s own rate table, the answers you gave, and a roof size that was measured remotely or estimated from the size of the house. Nobody has visited the property. An estimate is not a bid, an offer or a contract, and it is free: you owe nothing for it and are not obliged to go further.
- Each vendor settles the price its own way before contracting with you. Vendors use different methods: their own roof measurement report, a visit, an inspection of the wood under the old roofing, a check of flashing, vents and the number of layers, and what the local permit and building code require. Roof-Able does not choose or control those methods.
- The confirmed price can be higher or lower than the estimate. Things an online estimate cannot know include rotten decking or framing, extra layers of old roofing, hidden damage, access, code upgrades, permit fees, and changes in the price or availability of materials. Each estimate lists what that vendor charges for the commonest of these. If the vendor’s confirmed price is different, you see it before any work, and you can decline at no charge.
- A remote roof measurement can be wrong: trees, additions, a neighbouring building or an old image can throw it off. Look at the picture of the roof at the top of your estimates, and fix the address or your answers if something is off. You are responsible for the answers you give.
- An estimate reflects the vendor’s rates on the day it is shown. Rates and material prices change; ask the vendor how long they will honour the price they confirm.
- The products and warranties named on an estimate are what the vendor told us it installs for that price. Confirm the exact product, colour and warranty in writing with the vendor before you sign.
- We show up to three vendors, and sometimes fewer: only those that take that kind of job, work where the property is, and have current insurance on file (and, for roof replacement and repair, a current Oregon CCB license). The order they appear in is set by Roof-Able and is not a ranking of quality. Vendors pay Roof-Able; that does not change the price you are shown.
- Google ratings are copied from each vendor’s public listing and may be out of date; the link on the card opens the listing itself.
- Roof-Able does not inspect roofs and does not advise whether a roof needs replacing, repairing or rejuvenating. “Do you qualify?” is a screen based on your answers, not an inspection.
- The estimates are produced by software and can contain mistakes. We may correct one, and an obvious error binds neither Roof-Able nor any vendor.
- Ask for estimates only for your own home, or with the owner’s permission.
- Some jobs don’t fit any vendor’s standard scope. We don’t guess at those; we offer to refer you to Willamette Pros (section 9).
4. What “compliance” on a vendor card means
- Each insurance document a vendor gives us is read by a person and recorded with the expiration date printed on it. A badge shows only while a verified document is unexpired.
- “Multi-family compliant” means we hold verified, unexpired documents showing general liability of at least $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, commercial auto of at least $250,000, and workers’ compensation coverage or an owner-operator declaration of no employees, and the vendor has told us it is registered on NetVendor or credentialed on Yardi.
- NetVendor and Yardi status is reported by the vendor; confirm it in your own system.
- A certificate shows that a policy existed on the date it was issued. Insurers can cancel or change a policy before its expiration date, and Roof-Able is not the insurer. The compliance information is a convenience, not a guarantee of coverage. If your organization has its own requirements, such as being named as additional insured, confirm them with the vendor before work starts.
- A vendor’s compliance paperwork (W-9 and certificates) is sent on request, after we confirm the request. It contains the vendor’s documents as given to us; use it only to evaluate and set up that vendor.
5. Scheduling
- When you choose a vendor you decide how to connect: ask them to call you, or call them yourself. Nothing is scheduled until you and the vendor agree a date. Until the vendor has confirmed a price you can change to a different vendor from your job page.
- Rescheduling and cancellation are arranged with the vendor. Tell us if you can’t reach them.
- You are responsible for accurate access information and for telling the vendor about anything unsafe on the property.
6. Payment
- You pay the vendor. Roof-Able does not charge you, and does not take or hold your payment. What you pay, when and how is set by your contract with the vendor. The vendor pays Roof-Able a fee.
- If a vendor offers card payment through this site, it is processed by Stripe, Inc. on the vendor’s own Stripe account, and the vendor’s name appears on your statement. We never see or store your card number. Refunds and card disputes are handled by the vendor through Stripe.
Before you sign with a roofer
These are your roofer’s duties under Oregon law, not Roof-Able’s. This is a short summary, not legal advice; the Construction Contractors Board’s consumer pages have the full picture.
- A written contract. For a job over $2,000, your roofer must give you a written contract with their name, address, phone and CCB number, the work, the price and how it is paid.
- Three notices. On or before the day you sign, the roofer must give you the Consumer Protection Notice, the Notice of Procedure and the Information Notice to Owner About Construction Liens.
- Time to change your mind. Picking a roofer on Roof-Able commits you to nothing. After you sign a roofing contract, Oregon generally gives you a short time to cancel in writing (longer if you were signed up in person at your home). Your contract and notices say how.
- Liens, and paying. A supplier or subcontractor your roofer doesn’t pay can put a lien on your home even if you paid the roofer. The CCB’s advice is not to pay in full before the work is finished.
- If it goes wrong. Tell us, and tell the roofer. You can also file a complaint about a licensed contractor with the CCB; there are time limits, so don’t wait.
7. If something isn’t right
Tell the vendor, and tell us at hello@roof-able.com with your job number. Every vendor has agreed to answer customers within one business day and to go back and make it right when work wasn’t done to its written scope. If a vendor doesn’t, we will step in, and we can pause or remove a vendor from the platform. Responsibility for the work itself, and for any damage, rests with the vendor and its insurance.
8. Roofing work, licenses and warranties
- The services on Roof-Able are roof replacement and roof repair on homes, and roof rejuvenation (an oil sprayed onto asphalt shingles). Roof moss removal is offered through our sister site, Clean-Able, on its own terms.
- A vendor is shown for roof replacement or repair only while we hold a verified, unexpired Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) license document for it. A roof rejuvenation vendor is shown on its verified insurance; a license appears on its card only if it holds one and has given it to us. The CCB issues and oversees licenses, not Roof-Able, and a license can be suspended before its expiration date; you can look any contractor up with the CCB before you hire.
- The workmanship warranty on an estimate is given by the vendor, and the product warranty by the manufacturer, each on its own terms. Roof-Able shows what the vendor told us and gives no warranty of its own. Ask the vendor for both in writing before work starts.
- The products named on an estimate are the ones the vendor told us it installs for that price. If a product is unavailable, the vendor must tell you and agree a substitute with you before using it.
- Permits, where required, are the vendor’s responsibility unless the vendor tells you otherwise.
9. Referrals to Willamette Pros
- When a job doesn’t fit our vendors’ standard scopes, or the address is outside our area, we offer to refer you to Willamette Pros, a separate service that connects people with local contractors.
- A referral is a paid lead. If you choose to continue to Willamette Pros, the details you entered with us (the property, what you asked for, your answers, any conversation with our assistant, and your name, email and phone) are passed to Willamette Pros, and Roof-Able may be paid for the referral.
- Only if you choose it. Nothing is sent unless you click through.
10. Limits on liability
Roof-Able provides the platform with reasonable care, but we do not perform, supervise or guarantee any vendor’s work. To the fullest extent the law allows, Roof-Able is not liable for a vendor’s work, conduct, delays, or damage to property, or for a vendor’s insurance failing to respond to a claim. Our total liability to you in connection with any job is limited to the fee Roof-Able received for that job. Nothing here limits the vendor’s responsibility to you, or any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
11. Communications
By making a request you agree to receive email about it: your estimates, your job, scheduling and payment. If you give a phone number, the vendor you pick may call or text you about the job. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
12. Changes, and the law that applies
We may update these terms; the version you accepted is kept with your job and continues to apply to it. These terms are governed by the laws of Oregon.
